Loosing Weight, Staying In Shape, Living A Healthy Lifestyle

By FoodYou,

Should I Join A Gym?  Do I Need to Hire A Personal Trainer?  These are questions we ask ourselves when thinking bout Health & Fitness.  Answers will vary, the goals and results you are looking for will determine that for you.

In the main time you have complete controll over your Diet.  Right now your diet comprises of everything you eat daily, which might vary from day to day.  The first thing is trying to identify what your current diet is, make a list from the past seven days, every meal, snack, and beverage consumed.  Take a good look at that list because this is your Diet.  It might be daunting.  You might be wondering, how did i eat all of that?  This List also makes how loosing weight is specific to your Diet.

Identify problem foods and beverages

What would be considered a problem food?  Any food that will adversly affect your daily food intake by providing more Calories, Fat, Sugar, Salt and Cholesterol.  Once you have identified these problem foods, reduce the amounts or even eliminate them from your Diet.  Snacks (Chocolate Bars, Cured Meats (salami), Sodas, Fritters ect.) are at the top of the list of problem food and should be the first to go.

It can be as simple as changing a recipe on your daily meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).  This can reduce Calories & Cholesterol.

Quick & Easy Recipes

Have a small bowl of whole grain or bran cereal with ½ cup of low-fat milk. Top your cereal with fresh berries if they'll fit with your meal plan. To cut back on the amount of carb in a bowl of cereal, use unsweetened almond milk or unsweetened soy milk, which have fewer carbs and calories per serving than regular milk.

Make a quick smoothie

with ½ cup of non-fat plain Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons low-fat milk, and ½ cup of frozen fruit. Blend it all together and bring it with you on the go. You could also add a tablespoon of peanut butter, some ground flax or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Make a salad for your entrée.

Chop up your favorite non-starchy vegetables and serve them over a bed of greens. Add some rotisserie chicken breast, olives, Cherry Tomatoes, cottage cheese or another reduced-fat cheese. Have your salad with a side of whole wheat garlic bread or some fresh fruit.

What's On The Lunch Buffet...

By FoodYou,

Most people only have an hour for lunch a day, now thats not long when the average time it takes a person to get served lunch is between 5-10 minutes.  But there are many different options for lunch.  The most popular though is eating  healthy.

Over the years the Salad Buffet in food sotres have become quite popular.  It moves fast, options are right there for you to choose how much or little you want to put on your serving, there is even soup.  But how safe is it to eat from.  Did the three persons before me wash their hands before touching the utensils? how often are the utensils changed?  Is ther someone that comes around to clean up every 30 minutes?   See the Images of one of the more popular Salad Bars @ Super value Mackey Street.  Keep updated with articles like this and more by Subscribing Today.  Subscribe at the bottom of this page.

FOOD SAFETY TIPS
                                By FoodYou,

In this article we will discuss purchasing ground meats.  It is important to know what you are looking for when purchasing meats. If we take a good look at the photo example 1 we will see a few things. There is the name, weight and price of the Item. Whats not on the price sticker though is the sell by date.  Here is something to know.  Ground Beef Is safe stored in the freezer 3-4 months (Frozen Ground Beef Is Sold In The Freezer Section Of The Food Store, Your Ground Beef In The Meat Section Should Not Be Sold Frozen).

After being thawed properly it will have a shelf life of 1-2 days, this is the sell by date.  Is The Ground Beef still Good After The Sell by Date? Yes, and if you purchase it before that date you can freeze it up to 4 months before cooking.  Sometimes you might see ground beef at a lower price than regular, that is because it has passed its shelf life, and you are taking a risk especially if there are no dates on your meats to begin with, think about who you are cooking for.  Persons with low immune systems will have adverse effects and possibly food born ilness. I have photo examples of what to look out for when purchasing.  In some cases The store will reduce prices because item is on shelf too long, what they do is put a new sticker on top of the old sticker, but its the same meat that has been there past its due date.  How long past the date you might ask.  I say way more than should be allowed to continue selling to the public.  I went further and peeled a few to confirm my findings.  In the last example you will see where not only has the meat past its shelf life but it is also originally labed a different type of ground beef (Sirloin) with a higher price that use to be $6.79/lb now labeled (Ground Beef) @ $2.58/lb

Minister Of Tourism Does Not Know How To Proceed: Fyre Festival

By FoodYou,

Its been weeks since FoodYou Published an article on Fyre Festival.  One of the main reason we decided to publish was that we felt there was not enough dialogue about how individuals were affected by the events.

There is still no word from the Cater Fyre Company to the employees they hired, who have still not been paid to date.  It was promised by Donna Williams University Of Bahamas Professor, that she would send an email on the night of May 18th and latest May 19th.  The email has not arrived as yet.  Another example of how those in power can use their powers for injustice.

In an article By Tribune Business Editor Neil Hartnel, Mr. D'Aguilar the now Minister of Tourism seems to have his information travelling in multiple directions.  Firstly, he was unaware that DeAnn Gibson Ministry of Tourism Official was linked to the event, but why would he according to the MOT they were not even involved.  But Mr. D'Aguilar then confirmed to Mr. Hartnel & the Tribune that the organizers of the Fyre Festival sought out the ministry of Tourism on who can cater this event.  According to Mr. Diagular there were a few options given to the organizers who then ultimately choose Cater Fyre.  Still I am confused because lets not forget The Ministry Of Tourism said they were not involved in the Fyre Festival at all.  What is the protocol when dealing with matters like this, and was it The Fyre Cater Organizers or The Fyre Festival Organizers or even the Ministry of Tourism that seeked out other Catering Companies that did not make the cut for the Infamous Festival.  If you are a catering company that was contacted by anyone pertaining to the Fyre Festival, feel free to contact us at FoodYou here, we would like to get your input on this topic.

Is it a coincidence that the cateres chosen were directly related to MOT Official DeAnn Gibson?  Mr. Diagular does not seem to be at all concerned about what took place or if there will be any actions taken.  Mr. D'Aguilar told the Tribune when asked if there will be disciplinary action or an investigation that he does not know what to do, or how it works.

It is important to all Chefs and Culinarians to understand how important their role is to the Tourism & Food
Industry. Culinary Tourism exists and combines both Travel & Food to bring the total experience to Tourists and Locals  alike.  Will The Fyre Festival Change The Game For Chefs?  This is where that question is answered.  Subscribe and stay up to date on everything Food.
